Eagle Landscape is “Green” Eagle Landscape operates in an environmentally friendly manner to help reduce our impact on our beautiful properties. From planting flowers, to fertilizing, to driving trucks, each and every aspect of Eagle’s operation has been addressed to become an environmentally conscious company. Below are a few of our methods in reducing our impact upon the properties we service: Landscape Maintenance: - Tightly planned maintenance routes to help reduce fuel usage.
- Electronic Fuel Injected engines on all large equipment to reduce emissions.
- Mulching mowers to eliminate sending clippings to the landfill, and greatly reduce the need for supplemental fertilization.
- Utilization of burlap tarps for all discarded organic materials completely eliminate the need for plastic trash bags; resulting in a lighter “carbon footprint” and a lesser cost to the customer.
Irrigation Maintenance: - Monthly irrigation inspection reports to document current issues, and also provide recommendations to help improve the efficiency of the system,
- Recommendations to upgrade to “Smart” sprinkler controllers to help reduce water consumption. We see an average savings of 64% on the metered irrigation water, and the landscape beauty and health improves drastically.
Landscape Installation and Enhancements: - “Direct grow” containers for flowers. Pots grown directly in the tray without liners to reduce trash by 50%. Returning all trays to the grower for reuse vs. throwing trays in a landfill
- Expert advice and assistance in choosing sustainable plant material to help reduce maintenance costs and emissions required to maintain. Also recommendations on drought tolerant choices to help reduce potable-water consumption.
- Utilization of “micro-sprays” and “drip-irrigation” in planting beds whenever possible to eliminate over spray and run off of sprinkler water.
- All discarded plant material (limbs, flowers, leaves, etc) are brought back to the office and composted. We do not throw away any “green material.” A 75% reduction in trash volume!
Chemicals: - Integrated Pest Management (IPM): a Process of only treating for pests when necessary.
- Use of 100% slow release fertilizer.
Equipment Maintenance: - All equipment is serviced regularly to help run smoothly and reduce emissions.
- All trucks are retired after 7 years and more efficient vehicles are purchased.
- Maintenance programs for every piece of equipment; from a leaf blower, to a bobcat, to heavy duty trucks.
